Location: Aotearoa New Zealand (travel required)
Are you passionate about actively increasing the workforce capability of the family violence sector and beyond?
We are rapidly expanding and seeking Specialist Family Violence Facilitators to join our dynamic, driven and heart-led team.
This is a flexible opportunity ideal for experienced practitioners who are not reliant on full-time employment, but are motivated to contribute to national practice and systems change and strengthening the capability of the social sector workforce and beyond.
About the Role
As a Specialist Trainer, you will deliver high-quality, impactful training that supports practitioners across Aotearoa to better understand, relate, recognise, respond and refer to family violence — with a strong emphasis on increasing awareness of coercive control, individual and whānau centric practice, self determination, mana enhancing practice, risk assessment, and safety planning.
You will be part of a forward-thinking, values-driven team committed to improving outcomes for families and whānau through workforce development and system transformation.
We Are Looking For People Who:
Where possible have their own lived experiences of family and/or sexual violence who have engaged a healing pathway and are seeking the opportunity to transform lived experience into evidence for change.
Bring strong facilitation and practice knowledge and the ability to weave together and translate both of these capabilities this into engaging, meaningful training experiences.
Have a deep understanding of 'Family Violence is Coercive Control" and its impact on individuals and families while centering primary victims as active, capable and engaging self-led resistance strategies our primary victims engage to keep themselves and those, they love safe.
How coercive control is multifaceted, entraps and create barriers to safety and support - relationally, systemically and structurally.
Are skilled in supporting others to analyse risk and strategise for safety
Are flexible, self-managing, and open to travel across Aotearoa
Are not seeking full-time work, but are available for contract-based or as-needed delivery
Are passionate about systems change, workforce capability, and improving wellbeing outcomes for families
Align with a heart-led, values-driven approach to this work
What You’ll Bring:
Experience working in the family violence and/or sexual violence sector
Confidence in facilitating training, workshops, or group learning environments
Strong communication and relational skills
Cultural competency and a commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi
The ability to hold complex, sensitive spaces with care and professionalism
