- Build a positive, respectful, inclusive, and non-judgemental team culture.
- Oversee the delivery of family violence programmes.
- Develop strong working relationships with community agencies, funders, iwi, government organisations, police, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor service outcomes, client records, programme data, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards, contracts, and organisational policies.
- Contribute to strategic planning, service development, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
- Identify funding opportunities and prepare funding applications on an ongoing basis.
About You
You will be an experienced people leader who combines strong management skills with a sound understanding of family violence and community-based services. You are empathetic, approachable, and non-judgemental.
You will have:
- Experience in a leadership or management role within the family violence, social services, community services, health, or not-for-profit sector.
- Sound knowledge and experience working in the area of family violence, knowledge of the legislation frameworks and the principal theories and methodologies for addressing family violence.
- Excellent people management, coaching, mentoring, and supervision skills.
- The ability to build trust and create a supportive, accountable, and collaborative team environment.
- Effective communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with contracts, funding requirements, reporting, data systems, and service monitoring.
- The ability to balance strategic planning with the practical demands of day-to-day service delivery.
- Confidence using client management systems, Microsoft 365, and payroll systems
Qualifications and Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, counselling, psychology, community services, management, or a related field. Professional registration or membership is required.
- To pass Police vetting and relevant children checks.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, children, and whānau.
- Ongoing professional development, training, mentoring, and reflective practice.
- A passionate team dedicated to creating safer communities
- Flexible working arrangements where appropriate.
