Debbs Murray: Keynote Speaker

Debbs is passionate about sharing her story to increase awareness and understanding of family violence. She is often asked to present as keynote speaker or guest speaker to share her unique, and highly sought after perspective of exploring coercive control and family violence through the lens of her lived experience. She openly shares her “real and raw” story to bring aspects of family violence to life for those who hear her speak, and mindset change is the result.

For more than 20 years, Debbs has unashamedly pushed for greater local and national victim survivor and sectorial awareness, while striving to increase systemic and workforce capability. Debbs has a strong focus on increasing whānau safety by appropriately exploring, identifying and responding to coercive control in practice.

Debbs is available for keynote speaking engagements where she will present aspects of her own story of survival and educate the audience about family violence. She does this in her unique, informative, engaging, funny, and very real manner.

Debbs is now at a place in her life where she is choosing to stand by her story and experiences. She has written a soon to be published book of her journey through family violence called “One Soul, One Survivor” and has now shared her journey through three different Episodes on the Breaking Silence docuseries.
