Sarah Elliot

Facilitator

Sarah Elliott is an experienced facilitator, sector leader, and social work professional whose career spans frontline practice, organisational leadership, and national workforce development. She has held roles including Practice Leader at Oranga Tamariki, Social Work Lecturer, and General Manager and Strategic Advisor across NGOs and charities, giving her a deep understanding of the systems, pressures, and opportunities within Aotearoa’s social and community sectors.


She brings extensive experience in specialist content and sector development, contributing to national social work initiatives, advisory groups, and strategic forums. As a national and international speaker and facilitator, Sarah is known for her ability to hold complex, sensitive kaupapa with clarity, compassion, and evidence-informed practice. Her work integrates somatic approaches that support nervous system awareness and embodied learning, enriching her calm, attuned, and highly relational style. Her key speaking and publication areas include child sexual exploitation, trauma, abuse, mental health, wellbeing, leadership and authentic selfcare.


Alongside facilitation, Sarah runs a supervision and coaching practice supporting leaders, kaimahi, and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen reflective capability, ethical practice, and wellbeing. Grounded in values of dignity, safety, curiosity, and sustainable practice, she brings deep expertise across trauma-informed practice, community development, and human rights - contributing high-quality learning that strengthens community responses to harm.

Sarah lives in Tairāwhiti with her two children and is a lover of music, dance, nature, and fun - bringing warmth, authenticity, and a deeply human lens to all of her mahi.
