THE EVOLUTION OF ECLIPSE
ECLIPSE FAMILY VIOLENCE SERVICES has developed in response to a recognised need for targeted
and informed specialist family violence training with a combination of victim survivor lived experience and specialist sectoral knowledge to support and develop family violence response staff.
ECLIPSE provides a whole of system approach to family violence response, with a particular focus
on the Practitioner-Victim Insight Concept (PVIC)© and the interconnected dynamics and impacts of Coercive Control-The Umbrella Tactic ©, Rewards Based Phenomenon, Layers of Consequence ©, Invisible Walls© and Whole of Person Entrapment©.
ECLIPSE ignites mindset change by delivering training programs that support the enhancement of workforce capability by placing the victim-survivor voice front and centre. We strive to increase positive outcomes by reducing unconscious judgement and actively increasing empathy and genuine connection, to ensure safer whānau.
ECLIPSE is actively contributing to increasing our sectoral and community awareness in order for us all to take
national ownership of reducing Family Violence in Aotearoa, New Zealand .
Due to International interest in the PVIC model ECLIPSE is now offering online training to international organisations and collectives

ECLIPSE training packages are designed to ignite mindset change and further develop the workforce capability of those who engage with people and whānau experiencing family violence, as well as extended family and communities, on
how to identify dynamics of family violence and respond safely to those impacted.
ECLIPSE training packages will provide the answer to the age-old question of “why don’t victims just leave” by highlighting the barriers that Coercive control create. This unfathomable question will now become fathomable and all aprticpants will leave never having to ask that question again.
ECLIPSE training packages will support practitioners to engage respectfully with whānau, in ways which honour their ability to be self-determining, and which build upon their own interventions to address harm in a dignity enhancing manner.
ECLIPSE understands that by being able to relate to people experiencing abuse with genuine
empathy and understanding, the invisible barriers will become visible. And that through connection,
pathways to safety will emerge and individuals will be empowered to reach out to those who can best assist.
Through prevention the sector will increase whānau safety and wellbeing, and significantly reduce -
victimisation, recidivist offending and the substantial personal, social and financial cost of family violence in Aotearoa New Zealand.
